Practice – Wed 630-745pm (Chagrin Rec Center)

  • 11/7 through 2/27 (except 11/21 and 12/26)
    • Possibly 2-3 practices at other schools (Shaker Hts or Aurora or Kenston or Beachwood)
  • Season End Party – Wed 3/6 at Panini’s

Cost - $75

  • Tshirt and 2 tournament entries

2019 BEACHWOOD BRAWL YOUTH WRESTLING TOURNAMENT LOCATION: Beachwood High School – 25100 Fairmount Blvd. Beachwood, Ohio 44122 DATE: Sunday, February 24, 2019 * Wrestling Start Times: 10am - Rookie Division/1:00pm - Open Division WEIGH IN TIMES/ Wrestlers need to check in the day of the tournament REGISTRATION: Rookie Division: 8:00am – 9:00am Open Division: 8:15am – 12:00pm DIVISIONS: AGE GROUP: Rookie Division (1st & 2nd year wrestlers) Open Division Division I: 2012-2013 Division II: 2010-2011 Division II: 2010-2011 Division III: 2008-2009 Division III: 2008-2009 Division IV: 2006-2007 Division IV: 2006-2007 Middle School AWARDS: Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th individual place winners. Team trophies will be awarded to the top two teams. Team scores will be determined by the number of wrestlers entered from each team and the number of wins. Individuals may enter this tournament without a team and/or unattached. RULES: Rookie Division: Three 1-minute periods. Open Division: Three 1½ minute periods. Modified HS rules will apply. Overtimes will be sudden victory format. 10-point tech fall. 8-man brackets. Double elimination. Certified officials. Limit of 400 participants. ENTRY FEE: $25.00 - Checks made payable to: Beachwood Athletic Boosters at time of registration. *No Refunds REGISTRATION: All wrestlers must register prior to weigh ins. No pre-registration. WEIGH INS: Weight classes will be grouped according to age & weight and weight classes will be determined after weigh ins. Please bring birth certificate in case of an age challenge. A wrestler is permitted to wrestle in two age divisions or two weight classes but must not delay the operation of the tournament. We highly discourage weight cutting. CONTACT INFORMATION: Ryan M. BEACHWOOD BEGINNER BRAWL In Memory of Bernie Weiskopf Novice Wrestling Event Sunday, December 2, 2018 1st & 2nd Year Wrestlers Only! This is a great opportunity to get some excellent mat time. The format runs smoothly and there is no pressure on your wrestlers. Come to learn, to compete, to get better, and enjoy the sport of wrestling. All champions have to start at the beginning and that starts here! The goal is to get all the kids 3 to 5 matches and to get every wrestler a victory. Date: Sunday, December 2, 2018 12pm – 12:45pm Weigh-Ins 1pm - 3pm Wrestling Location: 25100 Fairmount Blvd. Beachwood, Ohio 44122 Beachwood High School— South Gym Ages: 5-12 years old - 1st and 2nd Year Wrestlers Only! Division: Division I = 6 & Under/ Division II- 7&8 /Division III = 9 & 10/Division IV = 11&12 (we reserve the right to combine divisions – we will only make this decision in the best interest of children) Entry Fee: $15 per wrestler -- to be paid at the door prior to weigh ins. Checks payable to the “Beachwood Athletic Boosters” – There is no admission charge for adults. Weigh Ins: All wrestlers will be weighed in upon arrival in the Beachwood HS wrestling room.Weigh-ins will close at 12:45pm Sharp! There are no weight classes for this event. Rules: There will be 3 - one min. periods. All periods start neutral. If a wrestler goes out of bounds they start in the neutral position. Each period will start in the neutral position. 10 points is a tech fall. Wrestlers will be given 2 warnings for illegal holds & then a point will be awarded. Overtime: unlimited time. 1 st point scored in is the winner. Awards: Awards will be provided. Format: 1st & 2nd year wrestlers will be paired up against other 1st & 2nd year wrestlers of similar age, weight and ability. We will try and get each wrestler a minimum of three matches. This is not a tournament; it is just an opportunity to get 1st & 2nd year wrestlers matches and experience. No awards will be given. Referees will not be certified officials.
